Administrative assistant CV example to fill in
Anyone hiring an administrative or accounts assistant wants to know three things fast: which tasks you handle (invoices, ledgers, bank reconciliations, deadlines), with which software, and in what kind of company. This example says it clearly. Open it in the editor, add your details and download it.
It’s a made-up profile: change the details and download it as PDF and Word. Free, no sign-up.
In this example
- Accounting tasks one by one, with volumes.
- Accounting software and Excel skills, named precisely.
- Qualifications and refresher courses.
What to write in an administrative assistant CV
The profile
Recruiters want to see how far you go: data entry only, or month-end and year-end too? In two or three sentences give your years of experience, the kind of company and your main tasks.
GenericOrganised, detail-oriented professional with administrative experience.
SpecificAdministrative assistant with seven years in small and medium-sized companies: sales and purchase ledgers up to year-end adjustments.
Tasks, one by one
The same job title can hide very different work. List what you actually do, with volumes when you know them:
- bookkeeping and posting sales and purchase invoices;
- e-invoicing, credit notes and payment reminders;
- bank reconciliations, payment schedules and supplier payments;
- VAT returns and liaising with the external accountant;
- accruals, prepayments and support with the annual accounts;
- timesheets and payroll data, if you handle them.
Software, by name
Name the accounting software you use and, for Excel, what you can do with it: “pivot tables, XLOOKUP, charts” says far more than “excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office”.
Qualifications and courses
Your diploma or degree with the year, then useful courses such as advanced Excel, payroll or tax updates.
Applying through a portal
Many companies and agencies receive CVs through software that reads them automatically: use the Essential one-column template and reuse the words of the job ad where they match your experience.
Frequently asked questions
How do I show my Excel level?
Instead of “good” or “excellent”, write what you can do: “pivot tables, XLOOKUP, charts, links between sheets”. It is more convincing and prepares you for interview questions.
Is this example only for accounts roles?
It leans towards accounts, but the structure works for any office role: replace the tasks with yours, such as diary management, purchasing or customer service.
